The Mountain Into the Sea

Walls are for a purpose.

The larger the wall, the bigger the purpose.

During history, many countries used oceans as their borders. They were easily defended. Rivers, too, added to defensibility. Rocky outcrops, mountain ranges, and even thick borders of vines, trees, and underbrush did the trick.

What wall has life built around us? Real or mental? Does our spouse mistreat us? Have our finances crumbled? Are there walls of illness holding us back?

It’s time to do a Jericho, to use our faith to topple those walls and regain the promises of God.

Matthew 21:21 says our faith can overcome all obstacles. Once we believe our answer is on the way, we won’t stop working to achieve it until it’s in our hand.

“And Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, “Be taken up and thrown into the sea,” it will happen.’ ”

Proverbs 3:31-32 is our confidence in goodness and faithfulness unto God, for the violent man and the liar are both outside the proffered hand of God.

“Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways, for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord, but the upright are in his confidence.”

Romans 13:1 reminds us our faith should not butt heads with the laws and regulations that govern us. If we’re billy goats for Christ, we might bring down the devil’s walls, but we’ll leave injured people along the way.

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”

Our faith in Christ can overcome all things. Overcoming them with tact and respect for the law is part of the plan.
