It’s easy to be caught up in our daily struggle just to get by.
After all, there’s bills to pay, shopping to get completed, and piles of laundry ready for the wash. We can’t get it all done.
Still, it’s important for us to step aside and take time to consider the magnificence of our God. He’s our wonderful King, the Creator of the earth, and he’s there to give us comfort throughout every day.
Isaiah 9:6 tells us:
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 40:28 excites us with a penultimate question:
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not grow faint or weary; his understanding is unsearchable.”
Genesis 1:1 reminds us of his power and his majesty:
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Our daily struggle can’t always be set aside. Sometimes we must just get on with it; jump in and take care of business; do what needs to be done. When we can, however, it’s important to notice the little things that remind us of the glory of God’s presence in our lives. It might be in the sunrise, or in the taste of a favorite dessert. Perhaps it comes in the voice of a loved one, an “I love you” from a spouse or a child. Wherever we see the presence of God’s love surrounding us, let’s take a moment, find the Lord’s refreshing, and move on to the next task at hand.
God is our glory. Jesus is our Prince of Peace. He sits on the throne forevermore. In him, we will find our rest and reassurance.
