Finding success in the world is sometimes an impossible task.
It simply can’t be done.
Poverty. Grow up in a financially desperate situation, and you are unaware how to claw your way out.
Get a job, we say. How, when you don’t have presentable clothes?
Get an education. With no money? When you are unaware that you can receive financial aid, it’s useless to you.
What about contacts? You have none. Family support for when you are getting started? They can barely survive themselves.
See it the way Proverbs 13:23 tells it:
“The fallow ground of the poor would yield much food, but it is swept away through injustice.”
Fallow means unplanted, unused. Fallow also means the lives of the poor are full of unrealized possibilities. They can do so very much with their lives if someone will help them by planting the seed.
That’s where we come into play. God sends us to help those who literally can’t help themselves.
- Training. We can provide that.
- Clothing. Let’s go shopping.
- Contacts? Financial support? Let’s get it done.
This is God’s way. He has blessed us so that we might provide opportunities to those in greater need.
We are God’s gift to the needy. Let’s unwrap our opportunities and spread them around.
God has a plan for us. Let’s get to it.
