A rock star?
Are you kidding? Do you know the reputation rock stars have?
On the website diymusician.com, we’re told that “rock stars are mythical, dangerous, and everything most of us aren’t.”
That’s exactly what God wants from us. Let me explain.
Rock stars are mythical.
They do things most of us only aspire to. We marvel at their deeds. We think, “Wow! If only I could be like that.”
Mother Teresa taught the world how to care for the needy. Billy Graham spread the gospel to tens of millions.
That’s only a pipe dream for the rest of us. God’s top followers achieve at mythic levels.
Rock stars are dangerous.
They take chances, break boundaries, and disregard the criticisms of their detractors. They risk death to achieve success.
David Wilkerson, author of The Cross and the Switchblade, lived on the edge among the gangs of New York City to reach the lost.
We need to unlock our lives. God wants us to risk everything for him.
Rock stars are everything most of us aren’t.

Tony Evans of Dallas’ Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship is the chaplain for the Dallas Mavericks basketball team.
Barbara Brown Taylor, professor at Piedmont College and Columbia Theological Seminary, is ranked as one of the top ten living preachers by the Southern Baptist Convention.

Charles “Chuck” Swindoll preaches over the radio, has written 70 books, and was named Clergyman of the Year in 1988.
Ralph Douglas West founded The Church Without Walls in Houston, ministering to more than 24,000 families.
Your Rock Star status is in your Christian DNA.
Psalm 1:3 says to step out for Christ.
“[You are] like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that [you do], [you will] prosper.”
God has planted you. Now is your time to be successful for his work. Trust in the Lord. His promises will be fulfilled to completion.
Our plan is Jesus. Our astounding life comes through him.
