God’s Heart Revealed

English Audio Version

Some people say we can’t see God.

That’s right. They tell us we have no way to tell the intents of an invisible being that doesn’t bother making his presence known on the earth.

They go so far as to say that God doesn’t concern himself with humanity. We were created and sent on our way to figure out things as we go.

That’s nonsense! If we want to know what God is like and how he operates, we need only turn to the most iconic verse in the Bible.

John 3:16 tells us:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

We do well to celebrate Christ’s birth with trees, ornaments, fine food, and many parties, but there’s much more going on here.

This verse reveals God in 4 distinct revelations.

Revelation No. 1:

God so loved the world.

We are God’s creation. He treasures us as part of his divine plan. He has not forgotten us, not for one instant.

Revelation No. 2:

He gave his only Son.

There’s nothing God would not trade for us, even his most treasured possession, Jesus. We are truly important to God.

Revelation No. 3:

Whoever believes should not perish.

God is not vengeful. He doesn’t desire anyone to suffer. He offers us his outstretched hand, hoping we will come unto him.

Revelation No. 4:

We can have eternal life.

God desires our presence forever. He wants to spend time with us. He looks forward to us joining him, and his anticipation is undisguised.

Who are the people who call out God as a fist of anger ready to smite the wrongdoer? Their claims are unfounded and without justification! God desires to redeem those who have wandered from his will.

The words of Pope Paul VI give the undeniable connection between God and man.

“We consider Christmas as the encounter, the great encounter, the historical encounter, the decisive encounter, between God and mankind. He who has faith knows this truly; let him rejoice.”

Our call is to spread the Good News, yes, at Christmas, but at every time of the year.

Christ is the message. We are his ambassadors. Today is our day.
