How about those prayer warriors, even if we can’t hope to measure up?
She’s taught the nursery class for twenty years? I’m not sure I could do twenty minutes.
I can’t resist coffee … I guess caffeine is my guilty addiction.
I wish I could give more, but Macy’s has a good sale this week … how can I miss out?
I would like to be on the ministry team, but I’m just not strong inside. What if someone finds out my faults?
Here are three biblical truths to bolster your inner spiritual strength so that you can be used of the Lord:
Biblical Truth No. 1:
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
This is found in 2 Timothy 1:7. It tells us to buck up, buttercup. You are a mighty champion of God, and you burn with his fearful light of truth.
Biblical Truth No. 2:
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
Look in John 15:12-13 for this nugget of goodness. Our spiritual strength is reflected in the love we show others. Bake a cake. Send a card. Say, “I care.”
Biblical Truth No. 3:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Roman 8:28 is familiar to all of us. When we relax into God’s arms, we become spiritual powerhouses for him. When we know that God has our back, we are willing to risk mighty deeds in his name.
You can measure up. You DO measure up. With Christ as your measuring stick, when you stand with him, you become a giant among men.
Stand on the Word. Trust in Jesus. You are a spiritual powerhouse in him.
