God’s Heartguard Trademark

Heartguard.

Two words put together to form a fresh meaning.

Heart: the most intimate part of who we really are; our true self; the seat of our emotions and desires

Guard: to protect, to shield, to keep from harm at any cost

Heartguard, the protection of what’s most important about who we are.

That’s what Jesus offers us, his heartguard trademark, his special formula for protecting our most intimate, true self, and for keeping our emotions and desires out of the reach of the evil one and the world.

Philippians 4:7 gives us the results we can expect:

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

The question becomes how to get the peace of God. That’s easy. We’ve had the cure for centuries. Here’s the list of ingredients:

A bevy of knowledge. A round of assurances. A drove of instructions. A swarm of promises.

We put these into practice—and discover the true peace of God—by reading and responding with faith and obedience to the Word of God.

When we discover and immerse ourselves in God’s peace, we are surrounded by his trademarked protection.

Heartguard.

God guards our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus through our knowledge and obedience to his Word.

No one else can offer it, no other protection comes even close. Only in Jesus can our hearts be truly protected from that which comes against it.

Slip into Jesus today. Find his peace by your time in the Word. Respond with faith and obedience, and his protection will be yours.
