4 Legends Believers Can Become

Legend carries two meanings:

1. a story with no proof

2. an extremely famous person

Let’s look at the second of these. For example: “The man was a living legend.”

Think of the mighty evangelists of the past.

—Billy Graham … his name is synonymous with great crusades leading thousands to the Lord.

—Martin Luther … he changed the way the common man in the church interacted with God.

—John the Baptist … he proclaimed the coming of the Christ to all who would listen.

These men are legends in the Christian world. We don’t think we have that potential.

But do we?

Here are 4 Legends Believers Can Become (and that means YOU).

Legend No. 1 is found in Matthew 4:19 (ESV):

“And he said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.’”

We must walk with Jesus. When we do, we can become fishers of men, and that makes YOU a LEGEND!

Legend No. 2 is found in John 20:21 (ESV):

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’”

We are sent to offer peace to a world in turmoil, you, LEGEND, you!

Legend No. 3 is found in Isaiah 6:8 (ESV):

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’”

When we answer the call of the Lord, we become a LEGEND in the eyes of God!

Legend No. 4 is found in Matthew 9:37-38 (ESV):

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’”

Sharing the gospel and the plan of salvation to those we interact with daily makes us LEGENDS in the kingdom of God.

You might not be a Billy Graham, but you can lead others to the Lord. Like Martin Luther, you can help others have a personal relationship with Jesus. And like John the Baptist, your job as a Christian is to share Jesus with all who will listen.

Get out there, Christian LEGEND! The world needs what you have to say about Jesus and his love for them.
