We all know the highly educated uncle who can tell us anything about anything but can’t make a good decision to save his life.
Or the recent divorcee with a college degree who remarries on the rebound to someone worse than the original.
Then there’s the people who invest money without doing their homework, yet they don’t understand why all the money is lost like water in a sieve.
It seems the train’s left the station, and they weren’t on board.
Wisdom is different than learning. Anyone can open a book or join an online study group. To look at two choices in a situation and select the correct one, well, that’s something we only get from making a few mistakes along the way.
Here are 4 Opportunities for Wisdom to help jumpstart your journey to a better future.
James 1:5 tells us to look to God for wisdom.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
Isaiah 2:3 promises God will instruct us in how to make good choices.
“… That he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.”
Psalm 32:8 is our assurance God’s hand will guide us in making the right choices.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
Ecclesiastes 2:26 says our wisdom is accompanied by knowledge and joy.
“For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy …”
C’mon now, let’s jump on the wisdom train. It’s leaving the station. God is the conductor, and you are welcome aboard.
