Life is as much about attitude as it is about aptitude. We can have the potential to be an astounding success (aptitude), and if we’re sour on the world (attitude), we’ll make it about as far as the curb, and we’ll tumble into the gutter.
How can we get our attitude on track? Here are 8 examples from the Word of God.
Psalm 37:4 says to find our joy in the Lord, and we’ll go far in life.
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Proverbs 10:24 tells us to live a righteous life if we want to get ahead.
“What the wicked dreads will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.”
Jeremiah 29:13 is the discovery method. When we look for God, he’ll be there.
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
Matthew 5:6 reveals the avenue for satisfaction with life.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
Proverbs 2:3-5 points out that we can’t give up in our search for understanding the truths of God.
“Yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 reassures us that our stumbling blocks are not total defeat.
“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
Luke 10:42 reminds us that when we choose Christ, everything else will line up in the proper order.
“But one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Living a happy and contented life isn’t about our car, our house, or our job. It’s about how we choose to wake up in the mornings, and the steps we take to get through the day. When we choose to follow Christ, we’ll find that every day is a very good day.
Jesus makes life better, when we decide that he’s our number one goal in life.
