Earth can be magnificent.
Travel the globe and we’ll uncover beauty beyond compare. The Serengeti. Victoria Falls. The Great Barrier Reef. The rolling sands of the Sahara. The Canadian Rockies.
Browse Hubble images of our universe, and we’re even more amazed. Vast depictions of the heavens, broad expanses of uncharted galaxies, and roiling waves of dying stars astound us in their beauty.
Dive beneath the sea to find scenes as beautiful. The sea teems with life, color, and glory. It’s an alien world that astounds us with infinite complexity and majesty.
How can we contain the beauty of our existence?
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says we can’t.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”
God has revealed to humanity greater things than man can know. He’s done it on purpose. God is greater than we are, and we’ll never figure him out. His creation is our revelation that he is master over everything.
He’s put eternity into our hearts so that our focus will remain on him.
We will never have all the answers, but we can be certain God is in control.
