Sing, O Sing

English Audio Version

A pat on the back always feels good.

We make the bed every day, and hearing that our work is appreciated makes a difference. The next time, we do our job with a lighter heart.

At work, we get paid for our time, but hearing that we’re doing it right and someone notices is our motivation for giving it our best every time.

Praise works so well, we use it to encourage our pets to perform at their highest level. We pat them on the back, and they want us to do it again. They’ll do whatever we ask of them.

Hebrews 13:15 reveals our duty unto God:

“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”

Our Father God doesn’t need our praise to salve his ego or make him the Lord of all creation. Instead, our praise lifts his heart, and the result is that he wants to do for us because we appreciate him for who he is.

Sing, O sing, all creation, your praise unto the Great I Am.

When we lift our voices to God, we inspire him to listen to our prayers and pay attention to us.
