God Will Supply Your Need

English Audio Version

Okay, here’s a test for you.

Drive into your church parking lot on Sunday. Let your eyes rove over the cars, taking in the color, condition, and model of each one.

What impresses you, either good or bad, about each one?

Dirty wheels . . . does their driveway need repair?

Paper registration tags . . . showoffs, surely. Is there another reason to flaunt a new car?

Or maybe it’s where they’ve parked. They’ve snagged the spot next to the pastor once again.

Do these attributes raise their drivers in your estimation . . . or cause you to turn up your nose?

Do you leave thinking, “If only I could afford a new car,” or do you whisper, “Thank God I don’t live down a dirt track”?

Here’s what God says: “It’s none of your business. I am your supply, their supply, everyone’s supply. Don’t worry about what I give them . . . or don’t give them. Are your needs met? That’s all that counts.”

We read God’s promise in Proverbs 27:27:

“There will be enough goats' milk for your food, for the food of your household and maintenance for your girls.”

Maybe their muddy drive isn’t a concern to them. Don’t let it get under your skin.

That new car? Maybe it’s the better choice for them with rising repairs on the old one.

Parking . . . who cares? We never consider if the pastor asked them to park in the spot next to his.

Let’s trust God to supply what we need and quit worrying about what he supplies to those around us.

Certainly, give when there’s a need. That’s generosity.

To get our nose dirty, that’s unnecessary.

God is our provider, and in him, there is no want or need.
