3 Strategies to Find Peace

English Audio Version

Keeping ourselves on an even keel is a struggle at times.

It’s the balance between the calm we need inside and the crazy world outside that’s elusive and maddening.

The Bible is clear on one thing: Practicing forgiveness is essential to good mental health.

We must be able to forgive others and ourselves if we are to find balance in our Christian lives.

Here are 3 Strategies to Find Peace in your walk with God.

Strategy 1: Psalm 103:12 says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”

So, what have you done so very wrong that God won’t forgive you? Nothing. As far as the east is from the west . . .

Get this in your head. God forgives you, and he chucks your wrongdoing so far away he’s not even aware of it.

Strategy 2: Ephesians 1:7 tells us, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of [God’s] grace.”

How big is God’s grace? We can’t measure the depths nor the heights of the glorious grace of God.

We are redeemed through the shed blood of Christ. Every bad thing, every wicked thought, and every off-kilter impulse . . . they are all forgiven.

Strategy 3: 1 John 1:9 reveals, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

We have one thing we must do. We must admit we’ve messed up and ask God to wipe our mistakes away.

You read that right. We ask, and he wipes it clean. It’s that easy, that fast, and that all-enveloping.

This is the only way to find peace, true, soul-fulfilling peace. Of course, we must live by Christ’s standards to maintain our internal peace, but that’s easy. We have the Bible as our guidebook, leading us all the way home.

When we learn to forgive, we’ve opened the door for peace to come inside.
