Team Players in Christ

Sports are competitive. It’s the nature of the game. If we don’t want to win, then what’s the point? We might as well break out the popcorn, prop up our feet, and let the world pass us by.

The best competitions are those we do together. We all have strong points, and we all have areas we struggle to bring up to par. As team players, our combined strengths overcome our weaknesses, and we can play leaner, meaner, and harder to win the game.

When we forge forward in our Christian walk with others at our side, we become the undefeatable force that carries the salvation message of Christ forward into all the world.

Psalm 133:1-3 declares this the truth:

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that was descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forevermore.”

Our beginnings of unity start with the Word of God. It gives us a cohesive plan, one that allows us to link arms and to walk after God with the same intents, desires, and underpinnings as all other believers worldwide. Salvation through the cross brings us together. The Bible makes us into a team. Christ as our coach gives us the victory every time.

When we offer Christ our strengths, our weaknesses become small, and we make our church family stronger than ever before.

Excerpt of the Day

Disbelief is fine. Refusing to move past it when confronted with the truth cuts God to the quick.
