3 Times Prayer Is Our Salvation

English Audio Version

Prayer. It’s a tenet of our Christian walk. It’s expected, part of the wallpaper. Of course we spend time in prayer.

Then we have our salvation. That’s the reason Jesus came to live among us. It’s the purpose of his death on the cross. Who doesn’t know that?

Yet, there’s more to salvation. According to Merriam-Webster, it’s foremost deliverance from sin, but it’s also freedom from ignorance, illusion, destruction, or failure.

If we don’t see that a bridge is out, and a good Samaritan waves us toward the detour, that’s a type of salvation.

If we’re dating someone bad for us, and we are too in love to see their flaws, a friend’s eye-opening pointers serve as our relational salvation.

We are rescued from the brink of despair.

So, what 3 times is prayer our salvation?

Psalm 55:17 says:

“Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice.”

These aren’t general prayer opportunities, rote prayers over a meal or at bedtime. These must be real, heartfelt prayers that come from deep within.

Psalm 145:18-19 describes God’s response to our prayers.

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.”

Each time we pray, we receive three benefits from God.

1. God draws near to us.

2. God fulfills our desire.

3. God saves us from our desperate circumstance.

Prayer is our salvation 3 times a day. If we tally over a lifetime the times prayer is our salvation, our salvation opportunities through prayer become too many to count.

When we turn to God for our help, he grants our every request.
