The Trinity of the Lord is widely accepted in the Christian world.
God is the Father, the central focus of the Trinity.
The Son is the Father’s most treasured joy, and he is a reflection of the Father.
The Holy Spirit is the empowering focus of God’s enduring nature, able and willing to give strength to all who ask.
The three, together, form the nexus that radiates power and glory to the far reaches of creation.
What we ask of one, the remaining two know. To make a request of Jesus is to speak to the Father, and to reach out to the Son is to embrace the nature of the Spirit.
That’s why we read the words of Jesus in John 16:23-24.
“In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
When Jesus walked with the disciples, they counted on the Master to answer their questions, provide for their needs, and be their connection to the heavenly realm.
Jesus says we can go directly to the Father. The Spirit is on our speed dial. We pray, saying, “Jesus, put me through,” and our prayer is already at the throne of the Living God.
That’s pretty awesome. We have no wait time, no navigating the insulating sycophants we encounter in the world, just a direct line to the Father through Jesus the Son.
Whatever you ask of the Father in Jesus’ name … God will give it to you.
How’s that for a good day? It can be yours, a power session direct to the heart of God.
Prayer works. Let’s take time on our knees today.
