Guard Dog Action

Guard dogs can be ferocious.

They will nip and tear at anyone who shouldn’t come around. They protect their charges with unbridled ferocity. It’s what we expect them to do.

We can release a spiritual guard dog to watch over our families, our homes, our jobs, and our health. We unpen the beast through time spent on our knees in prayer.

Matthew 26:41 reminds us that temptation is just outside our sphere of light, and it will consume us if we let it. Prayer is our best protection.

“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

1 Timothy 2:5 says Christ is our ferocious protector, for he is the one who connects us with God. Through him, the power of his death on the cross is released through prayer.

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

James 5:16 tells us our combined prayers unlock a guard dog that is a fearsome thing. We are wholly protected when we are united in prayer.

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

Ephesians 6:18 reveals the key to keeping our guard dog alert and active. We must pray in the Spirit to empower our protector to watch over us.

“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”

Psalm 34:17 is our assurance that there is no enemy too large for our spiritual guard dog to overcome. God delivers us from all our troubles.

“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.”

The power of God is our guard dog and is able to protect us in every aspect of our lives. We release his power though prayer; and it will nip, harass, and beleaguer the evil one until the devil tires of his assaults and leaves us at peace in Christ our Lord. The power of God is released when we spend time on our knees.

When we go to our knees, we will rise up in power in the name of Jesus.

Excerpt of the Day

A promise to the devil can be laughed off when we have Jesus standing at our side. A promise from the devil is worthless, and should be laughed off even faster.
