“Even the greatest accomplishments in our life are eclipsed by the glory of God. Serve Him in all that you do.”
For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13 ESV)
The sun is a brilliant star that warms our earth.
Yet, in an eclipse, the moon easily covers the sun, and its shining power becomes nothing.
It’s easy for us to see our awards, our university degrees, and our business accolades as the point of our lives. If we do, we’ve burned bright and hot, yet everything we’ve done will be wasted.
Our lives in Christ need to be hidden behind what He desires in us. However brightly we shine—and we should shine in everything we desire to accomplish—we must see the work we do in the Father as our crowning achievement.
The plans of our Lord will eclipse those of humanity no matter how we try to relegate Him to the periphery. When we serve Him as our Lord and Savior, we’ll be lifted up with Him, and His light will shine through us.
