We say the early bird gets the worm.
Or, it takes your feet and not your seat to get things done.
How about this one – you get ahead when you get out of bed.
Functional ecology, the system of defining the role animals play in an ecosystem, says the early bird also has a greater number of offspring, perhaps due to dining on extra worms each morning.
What’s your motivation for getting busy each day? Anthony Bourdain, chef and travel host, once said, “I have a lazy man inside who wants to lay in bed and watch cartoons all day. My whole life is outwitting that guy.”
God’s Word offers 6 Reasons God Wants You Busy.
Reason No. 1:
You can get rich when you get busy.
“A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” Proverbs 10:4
Reason No. 2:
You will receive the first selection of the best.
“It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.” 2 Timothy 2:6
Reason No. 3:
Lazing in bed will start you on a slide toward poverty.
“Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread.” Proverbs 20:13
Reason No. 4:
Your life will be easier when you keep your hands busy.
“The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway.” Proverbs 15:19
Reason No. 5:
You will avoid late payments and financial penalties.
“The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.” Proverbs 12:24
Reason No. 6:
You will have enough to share with the poor.
“Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.” Ephesians 4:28
Go out and get your worm. Your feet will carry you forward. You will get ahead and no one will be able to hold you back.
Now is the moment of your success. God says, “Go for it.”
