4 Signs Eleazar Was Blessed by God

English Audio Version

Eleazar in the Old Testament was the nephew of Moses, the original High Priest of the Jewish nation.

Eleazar was also Aaron’s third son and was given charge of the entire tabernacle, including the holy objects inside dedicated to the worship of God.

How did the third son of Aaron take the primary position of power in the early years of the Jewish state?

Eleazar was blessed by God and lifted into his position of power by the hand of the Lord.

Here are 4 Signs Eleazar Was Blessed by God.

The 1st Sign:

Leviticus 10:1-2 reveals Eleazar’s older brothers flouting the authority of God.

“Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, which he had not commanded them. And fire came out from before the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.”

Eleazar was a man after God’s heart, and he was lifted in their stead and becomes Aaron’s eldest son and God’s choice for High Priest.

The 2nd Sign:

Numbers 19:3 shows us God’s redemption through Eleazar.

“And you shall give [the red heifer] to Eleazar the priest, and it shall be taken outside the camp and slaughtered before him.”

Eleazar was granted the authority to purify the nation’s wrongdoing through the archetypal sacrifice of the red heifer.

The 3rd Sign:

Numbers 20:25-26 tells us Eleazar received the priestly garments by God’s command.

“Take Aaron and Eleazar his son and bring them up to Mount Hor. And strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son. And Aaron shall be gathered to his people and shall die there.”

Eleazar served as the High Priest of Israel for the next 20 years.

The 4th Sign:

Numbers 27:18-21 says Joshua consulted with Eleazar in the presence of God about the successor for Moses.

“So the Lord said to Moses … ‘Make him stand before Eleazar the priest … who shall inquire for him … before the Lord …’ ”

God channeled his authority through Eleazar, the High Priest of the Temple.

God wants to bless each of us. When we see the signs, let’s lift our voices in praise to the Father.

God lifts us up when we place our faith in him.
