Our Footprints on the Face of Sin

Sometimes it’s good to be angry.

We all know the story of the World Trade Center and the terrorists who took them down. We’ve seen the pictures of the Pentagon violated the same day. It’s the passengers aboard United Airlines Flight 93 that let their anger rescue the country from yet another disaster. They became angry and brought the terrorists to their knees, even at the cost of their own lives.

The passengers of Flight 93 were heroes that day. They stamped their footprints on the face of evil, and we revere them still.

We know the story of Christ crucified on the cross and the Jewish terrorists who hounded him to his death. We’ve also seen the pictures of modern-day missionaries standing up to the evil of sinful men who couldn’t see the truth of Christ because of the wiles of the devil.

Our missionaries who sacrifice themselves in the field are our spiritual heroes. They stamp their footprints on the face of sin, and we revere them to a man and woman.

Read these examples of God’s footprint stamped on the face of sin:

John 3:16 says, “Ahh, Devil! Going down!”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

1 John 1:7 blasts the darkness from our lives:

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

James 4:7 tells the devil to run hard and fast:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Romans 5:8 raises our fist of triumph high in the air:

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 3:23 calls for everyone to join in the uprising against sin:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

John 10:10 warns the devil that we have reinforcements on the way:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

That’s our footprint on the face of sin! That’s the devil going down! That’s us, stepping out in the power of Christ, taking charge over the evil that fills the world around us!

Sometimes it’s good to be angry, when the target of our ire is the travesty of sin.

Excerpt of the Day

A promise to the devil can be laughed off when we have Jesus standing at our side. A promise from the devil is worthless, and should be laughed off even faster.
