Brilliant Points of Light

Joyce Meyer, Christian teacher and pastor to thousands, says it this way: “You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.”

Helen Keller, deaf as well as blind, told us: “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.”

The Dalai Lama, a practical teacher who’s helped millions, has his version of thinking on happy things: “In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision.”

We need to attach smiley face stickers all over our world, to every event, every moment, every thought. Nothing can be allowed to escape. If we don’t let the brightness of the light illuminate our steps, we will continually bump into the walls in the darkness of the everyday disasters that threaten to consume us.

The Bible gives us brilliant points of light to start us on our journey toward a successful life in Christ.

John 16:33 says that our problems are not us. Jesus overcame them for us, and we can know his brilliance each and every day.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Titus 2:11 tells us the brilliance is nothing we create, but it comes directly from our Father above.

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people.”

2 Timothy 3:16 shows us how to find even more brilliant points of light.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”

Luke 15:7 tells us heaven rejoices when we share our brilliant points of light.

“Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”

Revelation 20:12 says that one day we will start on the ultimate brilliant adventure.

“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.”

The atheist might say, “There is no God,” and he expects to expire at the end of his days.

The Christian says, “I can think of nothing else but God,” and he will walk into heaven and live in God’s brilliance for all eternity.

When we choose to see God all around us, soon God will be all we can see around us.
