The Light of Hope

What’s the storm cloud over your life?

What’s happened to you that’s so bad you know you can’t recover?

Did a storm smash your house, and you have lost memories you can’t replace?

Have your dreams of college slipped away because of unexpected obligations, and now you can’t find a way to achieve your goals?

Did your job vanish with the global pandemic of 2019-2021? You don’t know how to begin again, and it terrifies you?

Listen to the story of Dave Pelzer. Locked in his basement, Pelzer endured one of the worst documented cases of abuse in California history.

Did Pelzer give up on his life? No way. He became an advocate for those who have no voice of their own. He shared his story in the hope that others would find a way to cope with their own nightmare stories.

Here’s what he would have you know: “No matter what your struggle, no matter how bad your experience, there is still hope. You are not alone.”

Isaiah 43:1-2 offers us a similar assurance:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”

When we come out the other side, we will find Christ has been with us through it all.
