People need security.
1 John 4:18 shows us where it’s found.
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
We can try putting locks on our doors and locks on our hearts, but we won’t find trust until we allow ourselves to become immersed in love.
If we’re in an abusive relationship, feel betrayed by our financial advisor, or unsure if God hears our prayers, we’re in a dire situation. We’ll wake up to fear each morning, and we won’t rest well at night.
When we truly give ourselves to Christ, he wipes away our past and wraps us in his all-consuming love. We are perfected in and through him, while daily striving to become more like our Lord.
We no longer need to fear the bad things in life that come our way.
God reassures us in our abusive relationship, he takes our financial worries away, and he gives us a good night’s sleep. We can wake in the mornings with a smile on our face, because we are held in the arms of the Father.
Jesus is our security when we feel the world has let us down. We can place our trust in him.
