FAIR can mean to give equal measure to two different sides. For example, if we have a son and a daughter, and we give one a car, it is only FAIR to offer the other something of equal value.
However, FAIR has another meaning. It can mean to be pleasant in all things, such as FAIR weather. The sun shines, the temperature is moderate, and the wind blows at just the right speed. FAIR weather makes life enjoyable, and there is nothing we like better. It is perfect for every occasion.
That is our God, for his presence brings perfection to every situation. He is the FAIR weather that makes life enjoyable, and when he is with us, there is no better thing we can have.
Let’s look at our FAIR God:
F – He is the FULLNESS of life that makes our days complete.
Psalm 16:11 tells us that in his presence, we will find our FULLNESS of joy, and in his right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Our God is our calm in the storm and our breaking ray of sun when disaster threatens to overtake us. He will make our joy complete.
A – His ANGELS guard our every moment, insuring our souls against the evil one.
Luke 4:10 is our confidence that we are not forgotten, for he has given his ANGELS charge over us.
There is no step that we can take that puts us out of the reach of the almighty God of all creation.
I – His INSTRUCTIONS carry us to victory, even when we cannot see the way.
Job 4:3 reveals the astonishment of man at the mighty works of God, for his INSTRUCTIONS give strength to the weak.
When we don’t know the path we should walk, God becomes the rainbow that guides us to our future.
R – He is the RESTORER of all that has been taken from us.
Ruth 4:15 gives us our ultimate confidence in the Lord, for he is the one that RESTORES us in our old age, and that births new life in us.
When dead ends come our way, we can trust the God that knows no dead end. He will bring us back to life, and we will know vitality once again.
The storms of life will come our way, but we have a redeemer who watches over us; and in him, we will find the FAIR weather we so desperately seek.
God is the oil on the waters, and he calms every storm.
