When We Fall in Love

English Audio Version

That’s about it, too. We fall into love, head over heels, like tripping into a chasm that swallows us wholly and completely.

The thing is, we don’t want to climb out, either. We’re happy in our love chasm. Even when we get bunged up along the way, it seems all right with us.

We’re in love.

Solomon was the poet of love, a treasure to the romantic of heart, and our inspiration for azure evenings of fancy.

And the bride confesses her love…

“Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine.” (Song of Solomon 1:2)

Her husband gives his adoring response…

“Behold, you are beautiful, my love; behold, you are beautiful; your eyes are doves. (Song of Solomon 1:15)

He continues with the words of an Egyptian endearment, calling to her as his sister-bride…

“You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride; you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.” (Song of Solomon 4:9)

The two lovers have fallen completely for one another, and nothing can separate them from each other’s tender embrace.

Proverbs reveals the strength of our love attraction.

“Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.” (Proverbs 17:9)

When we’re in love, our adored one can spill soup in our lap, and we won’t care. When we’re not, nothing will cover the slightest offense.

Genesis and Ephesians tell how deeply our love will flow when we find our true helpmeet.

“So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.” (Genesis 29:20)

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” (Ephesians 5:25)

No price is too great to offer for the one we love, whether seven years or our very life.

We express our love in hearts and flowers, XXXs and OOOs. We blow kisses, hold hands, and gaze with adoring moon eyes at our love. Then there’s chocolate, diamonds, and a night on the town.

However we celebrate our love, if it’s from the heart, there’s no distance too far for us to go.
