Better Things for Your Tomorrow

English Audio Version

Crash!! Bam!!

Your world is falling apart!

What next, God? Are you going to take me, too?

Sometimes life feels that way. Perfect marriage, perfect family, then the freight train of life hits us broadside, and our perfection is scattered across the train tracks.

That job we trained for, given to a newbie with less experience.

Our dream car, dream home, dream vacation … there’s no end to what can go wrong.

The transmission goes out while on a road trip … a storm rips off the roof … we get a virus and enjoy none of it.

“God,” we wail, “aren’t you paying attention to ME?”

Romans 8:28 (NIV) is the verse for you:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Here’s the thing: This verse doesn’t tell us that God will maintain our perfect life for us. He won’t remove every bump in the road so that we can coast through life on a velvet path.

Rather, sometimes he needs our good things to fall apart so that his better things can take their place.

In essence, the freight train is there so that HE can reassemble our lives into his perfect will. He has a better plan for us, but it can only be put into action when the old plan (OUR plan) is out of the way.

So, give in and let him have his way. He is working for your good in all things.
