Proverbs 3:5-6 give four revelations about our service to the Father:
First, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart.”
Second, “Lean not on your own understanding.”
Third, “In all your ways submit to him.”
Fourth (and most importantly), “He will make your paths straight.”
Psalm 121:1-2 tells us where we find the Father:
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Hebrews 2:18 reveals the qualifications of our LORD:
“Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”
1 John 4:4 assures us that we draw our strength directly from God:
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
When life seems to shift under your feet, trust in the Lord.
When you don’t understand where God is leading you, lean not on your own understanding.
When you struggle with the world, in all your ways, submit to him.
When you become disoriented in your search for him, he will make your paths straight.
We served a God who understands us. The Son endured the struggles we face, and he offers us help when temptation overwhelms us.
He is greater than the evil one who claims this world as his kingdom, and because of that, the help we need flows from his mountain, for he is the Maker of heaven and earth.
