4 Prophecies from Psalms

Blindsided … it means to have something come at us when we least expect it.

That medical diagnosis that suggests our time is running out, even after we’ve pursued a healthy lifestyle.

The rising waters of a devastating flood even though we’ve lived safely in our house for decades.

Sitting on the side of the road in a broken car that we just got out of the shop.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:12 that that we “see through a glass darkly.” In other words, the future is unclear to us.

Yet the book of Psalms gives us four things that are crystal clear about God’s upcoming Kingdom in Chapter 89.

Prophecy No. 1:

“I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.” (v. 25)

God’s Kingdom will stretch from the waters to the waters … and all lands in between.

Prophecy No. 2:

“His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.” (v. 29)

Christ will rule over all creation until the end of time. That’s you and me. There is no limit to his power.

Prophecy No. 3:

“His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.” (v. 36)

The sun is recognized as vital even by the secular community. Without Christ, there is no life possible, for he is our provider and the source of our sustenance.

Prophecy No. 4:

“It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven.” (v. 37)

It’s widely accepted that the moon was formed from the earth through a cataclysmic impact many eons ago. We are formed from the hand of God, and only through him have we come into being as witnesses to his power and might. If we follow him, we will reflect his glory and shine with his holy light.

Are you still feeling blindsided? You will be if you fail to choose Christ as your savior.

When you walk with Jesus, the future becomes polished glass, and the prophecies of the Word spell out our wondrous and beautiful future with our Lord.
