Covered by Christ’s Love

Life among the roses can be a thorny affair.

The roses are beautiful, and we want to pick each one, but the thorns can cut us even as we reach for them.

Where is our security when even the beautiful things in life can cause us to bleed?

Psalm 32:7-8 says:

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

Jesus is the rose without the thorns. He is the soft spot where we are cushioned from the disaster that is life. He surrounds us with deliverance, showing us the way we should go.

He loves us, loves us, loves us … and yes, the repeat is on purpose. We can’t hear it enough.

So, go ahead. Live among the roses. Pick each one. Also live your life in Jesus. He is the hiding place you can trust when the thorns become too much to bear.
