Faith Through Confession

Norman Vincent Peale had a long-running series called The Power of Positive Thinking. His words were quite good and gave strength and new hope to many. Basically, he said that if we choose to see the world in a brighter way, the world will become better. In other words, speak it, and the change will begin to happen.

Was it magic? No. It allowed the speaker to open up to possibilities and opportunities that were otherwise set aside in the muddle of daily living. Speaking the positive side of life would begin to turn the wheels to bring it into full focus.

Paul was our 1st century Norman Vincent Peale. In Romans 10:5-8, he reveals The Power of Positive Faith.

“For Moses described the righteousness which is of the law, that the man which does these things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wise, Say not in your heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (That is, to bring Christ down from above:) or, Who shall decend into the deep? (That is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

“But what does it say? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.”

We don’t need laws that tell us how to get to heaven. We don’t need to call Christ from heaven or from the grave to bring us salvation. We need to confess our faith in Christ out of our mouths, and we will find forgiveness and redemption through the name of Jesus.

The Power of Positive Faith. When we speak it, when we confess with our mouths, we begin to turn the wheels that bring Christ’s salvation to fruition in every aspect of our lives.

Salvation is simple. It’s a positive step for us to take. It starts us down a road that only gets better with time.

Excerpt of the Day

Disbelief is fine. Refusing to move past it when confronted with the truth cuts God to the quick.
