Imagining a Better Tomorrow

Humanists tell us life is about reality. Mathematicians look at the numbers. Scientists rant that if we can’t write something as a proof and back it up with research, it’s not valid.

Our God says all we have to do is imagine, and in that moment, we’ll receive a better tomorrow.

Read in Matthew 6:26:

“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

What is our reality? We have an awesome God who created a world, and then he gave it to mankind. That’s reality. Everything around us shows God’s love for every man, woman, and child. If we trust in God, his hand is upon us.

Check out Job 26:7:

“He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.”

Who can calculate nothing? The numbers will never match up. That didn’t slow down our God. Rather, he looked at nothing, raised an arm, and the earth was there, suspended in the heavens, along with about a billion other heavenly bodies. No calculations needed.

No one can overlook 1 John 1:9:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Where can we find a proof for love, repentance, and forgiveness? Is it in the scientific journals of this world, or do we need to look deeper? Perhaps it’s found in our hearts, evidence of a man who long ago died on a cross for all mankind. How’s that for proof that we’re cleansed when we give our lives to Jesus?

Walt Disney famously said: “All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

What is the Christian of today pursuing? Reality, numbers, and proofs? If so, maybe it’s time we start to trust in God, believe on his awesome power, and exhibit his enveloping love. When we begin to imagine the world as God wants it to be, then we’ll see a better tomorrow.

Let’s quit seeing things as they are and trust in God for what can be.

Disbelief is fine. Refusing to move past it when confronted with the truth cuts God to the quick.
