When you’re a veterinarian, you love animals, right?
Ericka and Jay Johnson met during a wild tortoise survey. As vets, it seemed natural that their beloved sulcata tortoise, one of the largest tortoise species in the world, should share their special day.
Tom the tortoise became the slowest ring bearer to ever lead a wedding procession. Guided by a string of strawberries strung along the walk, Tom made the day one Erika and Jay’s guests would never forget.
Hmm … stories we never forget. Like … Jesus, manger, miracles, cross type stories? Maybe one about an empty tomb?
You bet.
Tom the tortoise was loved by Ericka and Jay, and they wanted him to be part of the most special moments of their lives.
Do we feel the same about our Lord?
Romans 15:13 in the NIV tells us:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
When we share the Father with others, we reveal our trust in him as our good friend, rescuing savior, and eternal hope. The more we share him, the greater our trust will be in him.
Let’s share the story of Jesus. It’s endured for over two thousand years. Let’s keep it going. Let’s retell his life from the manger to the tomb of our Risen Lord!
