The Jesus Geyser

A geyser is special in that it is beautiful, awe-inspiring, and amazingly mystifying. However, there is something even more astounding about a geyser that we sometimes overlook.

A geyser is connected to something that we cannot see. Deep underground, there is a power source far greater than man can tame, tap, or create, and it sends that water flying into the air with a dramatic flourish.

What drives that eruption? The very core of the earth pushing upward towards the surface heats the rock, and when groundwater fills underground chambers next to the heated rock, voila! We have a geyser.

A Jesus geyser works the same way. He is a power source far greater than man can tame, tap, or create, and when we draw next to him, we will be fired up with his power, and we will explode onto the world.

The Word gives us multiple ways he sets us on fire for him.

1 John 2:2 tells us he is the redemption for the entire world!

Romans 15:13 lets us know we have all joy and peace, and in the Holy Spirit, we will abound in hope!

John 14:6 proclaims Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light!

Hebrews 13:5 is our assurance he will never leave nor forsake us!

2 Corinthians 5:17 is our promise that our old man is gone forever!

We can shake and rock and roll, because when we stand next to Jesus, we stand next to a power source like no other in creation. He sends us to the entire world to offer his hope, for he is the way, the truth, and the light; and he will never leave nor forsake us; but keep us in him forever!

How can we not shout out his majesty to the entire world?

The Jesus Geyser is you and me. We are the fired-up believers he sends to the lost, and when we are filled with his power, the world will pay attention to everything we do. In fact, we will be so amazing, we will be the only spectacle the world will want to watch.

When we are fired up by Jesus, the world can’t look away.
