6 Riddles to Reveal Salvation

Here’s what’s fun about riddles: They offer us a challenge, and when we solve them, we understand the answer in a new and insightful way.

Let’s look at 6 Riddles to Reveal Salvation in a new and insightful way.

Riddle No. 1: Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) says:

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

I am a gift that anyone can unwrap. What am I? SALVATION!

Riddle No. 2: John 1:12 (NIV) tells us:

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

I am not on your left, but I am your right. What am I? The opportunity to become a CHILD OF GOD!

Riddle No. 3: John 3:16 (NIV) reveals:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

I am born out of sacrifice. What am I? A CHRISTIAN!

Riddle No. 4: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) shows:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

What can disappear and be better than it was? You, a NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST!

Riddle No. 5: John 5:24 (NIV) makes clear:

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”

I live and breathe and yet I was dead. Who am I? YOU, Christian, for you are now ALIVE IN JESUS!

Riddle No. 6: Romans 10:9-10 (NIV) simplifies everything:

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

I am inside and outside, and I change everything. Describe me in three words. JESUS IS LORD!

Salvation doesn’t have to be confusing. The riddle of our redemption is now revealed. We must look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, for in him, our salvation is assured.
