Gifting Christ’s Kindness

―  Also find us at www.MyChurchNotes.com  ―

No one likes to be lorded over by a meanie.

It doesn’t matter where the meanie’s authority comes from, to use power abusively is offensive (as well as often painful and just plain wrong).

So why do some Christians delight in trying to pound the message of Christ into the heads of those who don’t yet know him?

Ouch, we say, but it’s true. Read Luke 12:45-46:

“But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful.”

Christ offered his redemption to all who wished to follow him. He was kind, loving, and generous. He was never a meanie. Never.

As Christians, whether we’re within the walls of the church or at work earning a living, let’s hold up Christ’s example as our ideal to follow. Christ gives us authority over this world. Let’s wield it with kindness and love.

How we treat the people under us reveals the Christ who lives within us.

Where we are is not where we'll stay. God has greater works for us to do.
