Increasing Our Signal

English Audio Version

Has your cell phone ever dropped a call?

They do that, you know, drop calls. If you use your phone while on the road, you learn to recognize where you might lose the signal – and lose your caller.

It has to do with coverage. The phone towers that send out the signal your phone connects to is more powerful nearby, but get out of range . . . or beyond the next hill . . . or in a low spot . . .

You know. You’ve had it happen to you.

There are two ways to fix your dropped calls. You can get a signal booster or stay closer to the source of the power.

Let’s look at a verse in Psalms.

Psalm 91:15 says:

“When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.”

This verse gives us four things God promises to do for us.

1. He will answer our prayers.

2. He will stand at our side when trouble comes.

3. He will rescue us when life batters us.

4. He will hold us up for honor before the world.

Oh, yes! We’ve got this! This is exactly what we’ve been looking for, the answer to every prayer we’ve ever prayed.

Our prerequisite is to call to God. And that’s where the interruption in our signal happens. We cry out to him, but the call never goes through.

Our spiritual cell phone can’t find a signal to the throne of the Lord.

Here are the two things you can do to improve your prayer signal to ensure that your prayers reach the heavenly throne.

1. Get a signal booster. Team up with a prayer warrior. Get your whole Sunday school class to band with you and go before God. The whole church. Everyone you know!

2. Get closer to the source of the signal. Renew your relationship with God. Make a new commitment to reading your Bible and spending time with your fellow Christians.

No more dropped prayers. How does that sound? It can be yours. Now you know how.

Trust God. Really trust him, and he will be there for you.
