Omnipresence.
That word’s a mouthful, but break it apart. Omni means 360 degrees of range. Presence means here right now.
Omnipresence: present everywhere with no place left out.
Here are four examples of God’s omnipresence from the Word:
Example No. 1:
“Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:20)
God is spirit. Jesus, his son, is like the Father. He joins us where we are when we gather in his name.
Example No. 2:
“Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Matt. 28:20)
At our shoulder, during dinner, when we are in the car on the way to a meeting. Jesus is there. Nothing, not even time, can remove us from his presence.
Example No. 3:
“No man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.” (John 3:13)
Here, there, both places at once. That’s Christ. Jesus didn’t abandon us when he returned to heaven. His presence (and power) remains with us always.
Example No. 4:
“He that filleth all in all.” (Eph. 1:23)
He. That’s Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Filleth. To the brim, all the way to the top. All in all. Everything, everywhere, without exception. Glory, this is exciting!
Wherever your life leads you, whatever road you travel, there’s no place or experience or situation you can encounter that you are alone. Jesus is wherever you are then, now, and next. Just look around. Reach out. Accept, believe, and trust in him. He will be there for you.
