3 Protections from God

English Audio Version

The enemy is our accuser.

God says we don’t have to listen to him!

The devil shoots fiery darts of fear toward us.

God tells us to stand tall!

The evil one dogs our steps like a rabid wolf.

God plants a hedge of protection around us!

Psalm 3:1-6 reveals 3 Protections from God for every situation.

The first two verses reveal David’s desperate situation.

“O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; many are saying of my soul, ‘There is no salvation for him in God.’ ”

How low David has fallen! Those who have witnessed his great deeds now see no hope for his redemption in God.

Our next two verses give 3 Protections from God against those who would bring David down.

“But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill.”

David proclaims the Lord as his shield before his detractors. David gives credit to God as his glory in the face of his decimation. Finally, David stands tall and calls to God as the lifter of his head and the one who will return him to his rightful place as king.

Our final two verses proclaim David’s confidence in the power of the almighty God.

“I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.”

The assurance God gave David in his time of despair is ours to claim even today. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

  • He is our shield.
  • He covers us with his glory.
  • He reaches down and lifts our head before our enemies.

We should be standing and shouting by now. God has set us on high, and we dwell in the glory of Christ, righteous and holy before all nations. We are protected in every way possible, and the fiery darts of the enemy cannot reach us through the protecting power of God.

We are now under God’s protection, and the enemy can’t prevail against us.
