Off-roading is a sport enjoyed worldwide.
Get a truck, beef up the suspension, and add big tires.
You need ground clearance, because you never know the size of the rocks you might drive over in the mud.
One last thing before you head out: recovery gear. A winch. Tow straps. Boards to slip under your tires when you can’t get traction.
YouTube reveals off-roaders coming upon novices stuck in mud or sand. Often, the novices are traveling solo with a poorly stocked locker of recovery gear.
Together, they effect a recovery, and the novice is off on the rest of their adventure.
The true strength in an off-road rescue is having friends at your side. For serious off-roading, having multiple trucks along keeps a bogged-down vehicle from remaining buried for long.
2 Kings 6:16 says the same is true of our walk with Christ.
“He said, ‘Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ ”
The Holy Spirit is our winch. Our fellow Christians are our tow straps. The angels of God are our recovery boards under our slippery tires.
This verse says to not be afraid. We are not alone in the wilderness. The sand may be around our wheels. The mud might suck at our tires. We may feel the rocks on our undercarriage, but “those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
Let’s shout! God is our recovery gear and team rolled into one!
We are assured of success when we remain affixed to Christ.
