There is a verse in the Bible that says we are changing from glory to glory. (2 Cor. 3:18)
Let’s look at that word. Changing. It means to become different.
How do we become different in Christ? Hopefully, if we are adherents to his Word, we become more like him.
Yet we are human, and as long as we walk the face of this earth, we will not alter that. Our walk with Christ will always be two steps forward and one step back.
That’s what this book on repentance is all about. We step forward towards Christ, and the moment we feel we are becoming like him, the ground becomes uneven beneath our feet, and we see our progress slipping away. Repentance is not a one-time thing. It is an ongoing process.
Why? We are frail flesh, and until we are changed in the twinkling of an eye to become like him, perfection is beyond our reach.
Even so, we must still reach, for he draws us ever toward him.
The final ten essays in this book are an in-depth look at ten facets of the repentance experience. However, before you get there, enjoy Deadwood and the Christ, Forsaken by God, Internet Dating, and more.
Your heart will be enriched, and your commitment to Christ will be solidified by the time you turn the last page.
May God bless you as you begin reading.
